THE NIGERIAN CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL

Under the Constitution of Nigeria, the Code of Conduct Tribuna is established as a special tribunal for the entire Federation dedicated to combating corruption in all the levels, arms and agencies of government in Nigeria.

It is tribunal of co-ordinate jurisdiction as the High Court of each State and the Federal High  Court of the Federation. It's jurisdiction is founded on the Constitution of Nigeria and specifically prescribed by an Act of the National Assembly of Nigeria. Appeals from decisions of the Tribunal lie directly to the Court of Appeal of Nigeria.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal is one of the most independent and secured tribunal in Nigeria in terms of the appointment and removal of its members. Its jurisdiction also gives it a strategic platform in the crusade against corruption in Africa's largest economy and most populated country: Nigeria
. It works in collaboration with the Code of Conduct Bureau, a body charged with the superintendance of the constitutionally obligated Declaration of Assets by every public officer in Nigeria as well as investigation of corrupt practices related to such declaration.
